Math of DOE

Introduction to the Math of DOE is a workshop for scientists, chemists, troubleshooters, and engineers who wish to understand the mathematics behind DOE calculations. The math is done by hand.

Benefits of the Workshop

  • You will know how to calculate b-coefficients by hand.
  • You will be able to create graphs to test for consistent estimates of the standard deviation.
  • You will be able to calcuate confidence limits for b-coefficients and predictions.
  • You will be able to calcuate prediction limits for predictions.
  • You will be able to calculate design quality parameters

In 2 days you will learn

  • How to use matrix mathematics to build a model.
  • How to calculate uncertainties in your model parameters and predictions.
  • How to create a Normal Probability Plot, a Predictions vs. Residuals Plot, and a Box-Cox Plot..
  • How to judge the number of accurate decimal places in your results.
  • How to calculate VIF's.
  • How to calculate a correlation matrix.
  • How to code responses for desirability and use a grid search technique to find Sweet Spots

This is What Happens During the Training

  • You will review basic principles of matrix mathematics.
  • You will build a model from data collected using a designed experiment using only hand calculations. You will perform an entire Response Surface Analysis by hand.
  • You will learn to calculate design quality parameters and use them to judge the overall quality of a design.

Prerequisites
You need to have taken "Performing Objective Experiments" or its equivalent. You need to enjoy mathematics and performing hand calculations.

Custom Training

Your In-House Trainer can Teach Our Course
We will train your in-house staff to teach "Performing Objective Experiments." If you have a large staff to train, this may be your most economical solution.
If your in-house staff doesn't require training, they can still use our training materials for a very reasonable price.

Please call us toll free at 866-683-6173 to learn more.

We Can Design Custom Training for Your Company
Do you have specific needs in a math training course? Would you like your employees to learn basic algebra? Do your employees need training in basic statistics? Please call us toll free at 866-683-6173 to learn how we can help you.
